The City of Sydney is building a modern city centre called Green Square Library and Plaza. The City held an open architecture competition and over 160 architects from around the world entered.
Architects Stewart Hollenstein with Colin Stewart Architects, created the winning design which showcases an innovative, underground library that’s also a public plaza.
Craft was awarded the design, supply and installation of the high performance library façades in this community complex. Our scope included all of the structural steel, roof cladding, glazing and doors for the 7 storey high glass tower and the 16 meter high glass entry prism. We also designed, supplied and installed the 40 skylights that allow natural day light to filter down into the underground library.
